LORD® 403E and 406E acrylic adhesives are used in conjunction with LORD curing agent 17, 19 or 19GB to replace welding, brazing, riveting and other mechanical fastening methods. These adhesives are particularly excellent in low temperature environments and high impact load applications.

LORD 403E and 406E acrylic adhesive and LORD curing agent 17, 19 or 19GB are mixed together to form an adhesive system that can bond a variety of metals and engineering plastics with or without pretreatment. These adhesive systems are specially formulated to have high impact strength and high peel strength when cured at room temperature.

LORD 403E and 406E acrylic adhesive can be used with LORD curing agent 17, 19 or LORD curing agent 19GB. LORD curing agent 19GB contains solid glass beads with a diameter of 0.25 mm and high compressive strength, so as to accurately control the thickness of the adhesive layer. If the thickness of the adhesive layer is controlled by other means, or the thickness of the adhesive layer exceeds 0.25 mm, LORD curing agent 19 can be used. The colors of LORD curing agent 19 are grayish white or black. For detailed information, please refer to the applicable data sheet.

Flame-resistant / smoke-resistant / toxic-resistant-meets or exceeds the requirements of railway passenger trains.

Instructions

Surface preparation-Metal surfaces must be cleaned of grease, loose contaminants, or oxides with poor adhesion. Normal amounts of rolling oil and drawing fluids usually do not cause problems with bonding. Most plastics require simple cleaning before bonding. In order to obtain the best bonding effect, some may need to be sanded.

Mixing-LORD 403E or 406E acrylic adhesive is mixed with an appropriate amount of LORD curing agent 17, 19 or 19GB. Hand-held card barrel glue can automatically feed according to the correct volume ratio of each component. If the color distribution is uniform, it means that it has been mixed evenly. After the components are mixed, the adhesive will cure quickly.

Operation-Use hand-held cartridge glue or automatic metering / mixing / dispensing equipment to apply adhesive.

· Handheld card barrel glue

1. Install the cartridge glue on the glue gun and remove the end cap of the cartridge glue.

2. Squeeze out a small amount of adhesive to ensure that both sides are flush to keep the push rod flush.

3. Install the mixing tube, and extrude the same length of adhesive as the mixing tube.

4. Apply the adhesive to the substrate and align the bonded parts together within the working time of the adhesive. Clamp the bonded parts together until the adhesive reaches operating strength. After the bonding parts are aligned, the adhesive must not be exposed to the air again. The bonded parts should be slid relative to each other to ensure proper alignment.

Curing-The adhesive starts to cure immediately after contact with the curing agent. According to the adhesive version, when the curing temperature is 24 ° C, the operating strength will be reached after 7-20 minutes. Full curing requires curing for 24 hours at room temperature. The bonding surface must remain in contact throughout the curing period. Slight heating can speed up the curing speed. When using thermal curing, the temperature should not exceed 66 ° C.

Cleanup-Before curing the adhesive, use isopropyl alcohol, acetone or methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) to clean the equipment and tools. After the adhesive has cured, heat the adhesive to 204 ° C or higher to soften the adhesive. In this way, the adhesive parts can be separated and the adhesive can be removed more easily. Commercial epoxy strippers have a role.

Shelf life / storage requirements

Use the original unopened container and store it at a temperature below 27 ° C. The shelf life is six months. To maximize the shelf life, the recommended storage temperature is 4-10 ℃. If stored at a lower temperature, allow this product to return to room temperature naturally before use. Avoid ultraviolet radiation. 

LORD 403E and 406E acrylic adhesives are flammable. Do not store near heat sources, sparks or open flames during storage or use.
